Overview
The BF-6801 is a compact digital thermostat for refrigeration and cold storage temperature control, built into the same 100×52×79 mm panel footprint as the BF-6800 series. It controls temperature from −50°C to 100°C at 0.1°C resolution on an AC220V supply, making it a straightforward drop-in for refrigeration cabinets, freezers, prep counters and other equipment where panel space is tight but reliable temperature control still matters.
Despite its small size, the BF-6801 carries the full refrigeration feature set: compressor control with start-up delay protection, periodic defrost, evaporator-fan management and a configurable AUX output for alarm, lighting, heating, water-pump or cyclic duty. The BF-6811 variant adds 1–100A current detection so the compressor is protected against overload in commercial refrigeration and industrial control installations.
Key functions
Compact refrigeration control
A space-saving thermostat that still delivers −50°C to 100°C temperature control with adjustable setpoint and differential — ideal where a full-size controller won't fit.
Defrost control
Periodic defrost ends on either time or temperature, with drip-off delay and forced start/stop, keeping the evaporator clear and cold storage temperature stable.
Fan management
Independent evaporator-fan control with lead/lag timing and post-defrost delay so the cold room holds an even temperature.
Current detection (BF-6811)
1–100A current detection protects the compressor against overload, a useful safeguard in continuously running commercial refrigeration.
Where it's used
Commercial refrigeration
In refrigerated cabinets and freezers the BF-6801 holds product at setpoint and runs defrost automatically, delivering dependable temperature control from a compact panel.
Cold storage
For smaller cold rooms the controller manages compressor and fan together and raises a high/low temperature alarm if control drifts.
Industrial temperature control
On OEM refrigeration and industrial control equipment, the compact form factor makes the BF-6801 easy to integrate into existing enclosures.
Installation & use
Fit the controller into a 92×42 mm panel cut-out and connect it to an AC220V supply. Position the temperature sensor where it reflects the temperature of the stored product, and route sensor wiring away from power cabling to avoid interference in the refrigeration control system.
For refrigeration use, mount the defrost sensor on the evaporator return pipe with proper waterproofing so defrost ends on time. Choose a compressor contactor with adequate power margin, and add an independent temperature alarm on critical cold storage as a second line of protection.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the BF-6801 different from the BF-6800?
- Both share the same compact 100×52×79 mm body and refrigeration feature set. The BF-6800/6810 line offers more AUX and smart-defrost options at the top end; the BF-6801/6811 is the streamlined compact option.
- What temperature range does it control?
- −50°C to 100°C at 0.1°C display resolution, covering freezer, cold storage and general refrigeration temperature control.
- Does the BF-6811 add current detection?
- Yes. The BF-6811 variant includes 1–100A current detection to protect the compressor; the BF-6801 covers temperature, defrost and fan control without it.
