Overview
The BF-6800 is a multi-function digital thermostat built for refrigeration and cold storage temperature control. It measures temperature from −50°C to 100°C at 0.1°C resolution and runs on a standard AC220V supply, which makes it a direct fit for walk-in cold rooms, reach-in refrigeration cabinets, freezer units and a wide range of industrial temperature control equipment. As an all-in-one controller, it handles compressor switching, defrost, fan management and alarms from a single panel, so an installer can commission a complete cold storage control loop without stacking separate modules.
Beyond basic temperature control, the BF-6800 manages the full refrigeration cycle. It drives the compressor with start-up delay protection, coordinates the evaporator fan, runs scheduled defrost, and exposes a configurable AUX output that can be set for alarm, lighting, heating, water-pump or cyclic duty. The BF-6810 variant extends the same platform with 1–100A current detection, phase-sequence protection and AI-assisted smart defrost, giving larger refrigeration and industrial control systems an extra layer of electrical protection and energy saving on top of accurate temperature control.
Key functions
Refrigeration & heating control
Acts as a thermostat for both cooling and heating. With the AUX output set to heating, the controller supports refrigeration and heating from one device; otherwise it runs as a dedicated refrigeration temperature controller with adjustable setpoint and differential.
Defrost control
Periodic defrost with dual stop conditions — defrost ends on either time or temperature — plus drip-off delay and forced start/stop. Correct defrost control keeps the evaporator clear and protects cold storage temperature stability.
Fan management
Independent evaporator-fan control with configurable lead or lag relative to the compressor, fan delay after defrost, and cyclic standby running, so air temperature in the cold room stays even.
Current & phase protection (BF-6810)
1–100A current detection with phase-sequence protection guards the compressor in industrial refrigeration installations; AI-assisted smart defrost uses edge computing to extend the defrost interval and cut energy use.
Where it's used
Cold storage & walk-in cold rooms
In cold storage rooms the BF-6800 holds the chamber at setpoint, runs periodic defrost to keep the evaporator clear, and raises a high/low temperature alarm if control drifts — the core of reliable cold room temperature control.
Commercial refrigeration
For refrigerated display cabinets, freezers and prep tables, the thermostat manages compressor and fan together so product stays within a tight temperature band without manual attention.
Industrial temperature control
On heating equipment and industrial control systems, the AUX heating mode turns the unit into a combined refrigeration-and-heating temperature controller for processes that must stay inside a fixed range.
Installation & use
Mount the controller in a 92×42 mm panel cut-out and wire it to an AC220V supply. Place the temperature sensor where it best reflects the temperature of the stored product, and keep sensor and signal wiring away from power and contactor cabling to avoid electromagnetic interference in the cold storage control system.
For refrigeration use, fit the defrost sensor on the evaporator return pipe with proper waterproofing so the controller reads evaporator temperature accurately and ends defrost on time. Size the compressor contactor with margin, and on critical cold storage add an independent high/low temperature alarm as a second line of defence against sensor or relay failure.
Frequently asked questions
- What temperature range does the BF-6800 control?
- It measures and controls from −50°C to 100°C at 0.1°C display resolution, covering freezer, cold storage and general refrigeration temperature control.
- What is the difference between the BF-6800 and BF-6810?
- The BF-6810 adds 1–100A current detection, phase-sequence protection and AI-assisted smart defrost. The BF-6800 covers temperature, defrost and fan control without current detection.
- Can it control both refrigeration and heating?
- Yes. With the AUX output set to heating, the controller provides both refrigeration and heating; otherwise it runs as a refrigeration-only temperature controller.
- Does it support remote monitoring?
- Optional Bluetooth, 4G and WiFi modules allow remote viewing and setting of parameters, temperature data logging and real-time alarms from a phone.
